Pippa Holt’s handmade cotton kaftans symbolise ease and versatility - "they pack small, work day and night, on a beach, in a city, with or without a belt," she explains. Cut for a loose fit, this coffee and white striped style has sophisticated aubergine motifs. Slip it on over your bikini for trips to the market or a poolside lunch. The maxi style works just as well belted as it does loose.
In 2016, stylist Pippa Holt launched her eponymous line of kaftans which celebrates her love of indigenous textiles, far-flung travel and beautiful, original attire. Collaborating with a group of artisans in a remote part of Mexico, together they have created a colourful collection for the beach and the city. Head weaver, Felipa has over fifty year's experience and along with her daughter, Angelica and a group of weavers they create one off pieces following age-old traditions. Holt first started wearing the kaftans when she was living in Houston. Nothing prepared her for the searing Texan heat and she ended up wearing them every day. Holt’s editorial background as a stylist at British Vogue, a degree in fashion design combined with her love of travel is very much evident in her collection. It takes one month to make each unique kaftan and, due to the way they are hand-crafted, no two are the same.
